Upchuckin' Shanghai Nobby's

I think I've posted this photo before but I recently reworked it, in hopes of seeing it in print. As you can see, the bar's name is Shanghai Nobby's. I drew the initial design by hand then transferred it to my computer and finished the coloring digitally. Enjoy!

Mr. Pollacks Final Farewell Tour Poster

A few months ago I had to put down my bestest first cat friend. I decided to make him a visual obituary of sorts. Finally putting the nail in the coffin and calling it "finished".

Bear Creek Festival Poster Contest

This is a piece that I submitted in the poster contest for Bear Creek Music Festival 2012. Unfortunately, it did not win but it did make it to the second round of voting. It is a hand drawn illustration that I scanned and put through Adobe Photoshop for clean up, text, and background. Enjoy!

"Diane Rot" Episode 1 - To Be Continued

This is the beginning of a mini series of Noir comics. I've considered different scenes, different people, names, etc. & like I said, more to come. This is one of the few projects I've created for myself to keep my skills & mind sharp. Suggestions welcome, as always.

Widow's Peak

I recently finished this piece... based off of a series of dreams I've been having. There will be more to come. This is the start of a too long hiatus. Any suggestions or comments would be much appreciated.

Take It In & Spit It Out

Last year I completed two pieces that, now that I think about it, work well against each other. I debated blogging them separately, but since they were created together they should be displayed together. The little girl image compliments the older female in the second image. Almost as if the girl turned into the woman shown vomiting up body parts, despite the fact their creation was swapped: the woman first and then the little girl.

My story: The woman is shown vomiting up body parts that are not her own, as if she ate "parts" of those around her - and could be termed as "verbal vomit". The girl came forth afterwards, as if in reflection and seeing the building blocks of her being. Taking on other shapes, as if they were a part of her back - where the spine and body structure gain the most support, but in fact she is in a shape of her own. Thus tying her own limbs. The woman, is spitting out all the bits, she ate, that disagreed with her stomach.

I present my images, enjoy!

B lack & ite

Here are a few sketches from a book I carry around. Focusing on not focusing, that's why I carry it.

Applied Record Paint

I mentioned that I started painting records, an idea that I borrowed from my friend H Dollirious Cupcakenstein, by her consent. I'm not sure if she has a blog or what not, but I will inquire and update a link for her, in case you are interested in seeing some neat things(which I suggest because she is HIGHLY talented). Anyway! Here are my photographs of the pieces I created, which are mostly gone.

J-UNK LAY-D Products

I recently mentioned that I create artistic trinkets to sell around St. Augustine for some pocket change. I started line painting on discarded vinyls, which I will post in due time, but then it evolved into forming the discarded vinyl into miniature pieces of abstract sculpture. This individual pieces I painted to produce pendants and earrings for funky, chunky, fresh jewelry line. Currently the making and selling of these pieces has been put on pause and I currently have (4) pairs of earrings from the original line available. I also started to experiment with transforming a select few discard vinyls into hats, which I will post photographs in the future.

Since these pieces are literally one of a kind, made to match, I am pleased to take requests for pieces you would like made. All you need do is contact my email address with details of what you would like. You can reach me at: scareahgraves@gmail.com. Subject line: "J-UNK LAY-D"

I present to you photographs of my line of creations. Enjoy!

Rock-a-dillacorn

Over the years, I've been on many adventures, to a variety of places, and on the way met my share of people, in spectrum. A few of which I am happy to say I still keep in contact with. One such person whom I am lucky to call friend is an individual called Michael D, from Baton Rouge, LA. While currently located, and without a stable job, in St. Augustine, FL I have made an effort to keep my artistic skills tuned by creating pieces for friends, as well as creating artsy trinkets to sell to the general public. I present you with a piece that I created for Michael D, a little under a year ago.
