Mardi Gras Logo

About under a year ago I worked through a company, which will go unnamed because I do not support their establishment due to lack of business ethics, for a sports bar called "Mardi Gras". I was hired to design a business logo/t-shirt. I present you with the design as well as a photograph of the actual t-shirt.

Tuning In

On a stretching beach... Can you find the broken bits of shell that belong together? No
The best I can do is connect the dots & move on.

Shockin' Peacock

A while back I did a mural in my old friend Mikee Oullette's house. It was a three wall mural project with 2 other artists: Joe Tai and Christopher Elvis. I was very happy with my results so although this is something from the past I'm still proud to present you with a few images. The concept for the room was "Clashing Worldly Religions" but it was a bit dry, so to speak, so I just did what I do best & had a little fun.

Fresh Website

So I've started rebuilding my current website: www.ringling.edu/~sgraves because let's face it... if you've seen it - It is not impressive. Let's just say I was at a point in my life where the quickest solution was the best solution. I've known better... I just caught a little cultural bug that I'm still trying to release myself from. But! Enough jibber jabber. I figured starting a blog would be ten times easier than putting together a whole new website... at least for now considering how much work is involved with building a website and the work involved with updating it. People think it's sooo easy if they've never had to do it but I'll have you know it takes an incredible amount of creativity, patience, and skill. As of now I still have a good deal of work adding all the images I've collected from my explorations in different fields of the visual arts. So as to give myself a little ego boost I have decided to post some screen shots of the work I have done so far. Just in case my images happen to leak I want them somewhere with my name and a date. No offense to anyone.. That's just how it is.

DIRTY BURD

This is a mock advertisement ad I made up to help bulk up my portfolio that I've been slacking on for far too long.

I designed up a label/advertisement for a made up liquor brand called "DIRTY BURD". My audience the young, sophisticated, witty adult whom likes to enjoy a tasty beverage to loosen up to begin a hard days work. Incorporated are satirical ideology about drinking in general, hence the name "DIRTY BURD" and the eye sight testing chart. Some people drink to get drunk & some enjoy a taste of forbidden fruits to see through a different color of eyes - just for the record anybody who views this (call it preaching if you like) but please do not get yourself into more trouble than you need as a consequence of drinking too much. People, on face value, are gradually becoming increasingly inconsiderate and disrespectful individuals - maybe it's due to the fact I've been raised in different countries with different standards of the word "unity" but I believe it's a strong characteristic of the standard American. Either way you want to take what I say I urge you all, from personal experience, to "Drink Responsibly" and I'm not referring to the cut & dry version of that phrase but overall take care of yourself because there is no invisible promises that some one else will.

New Leaf

Hi!
In case you don't know me... My name is Sarah Graves AKA Scareah Diggin' Graves & I have too many stories. Maybe I'll write them down one day but this is not that day. I am an artist trying to find myself & these are proof of my "campsites" along my travels. Until now I've been living on mute in slow motion. Gradually the volume has been increasing and the picture coming back to real time. This is my new start. Thank you for your time & enjoy!

Sincerely,
Sarah Graves =]
